Unwrapped after cooking |
1/2 cup chickpea flour
1/2 cup vital wheat gluten flour
1/2 cup water or vegetable broth
1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
1 1/2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl mix together all the HAM ingredients until a nice goopy mixture forms.
Spread a large sheet of aluminum foil on the counter. Place the mixture into the middle of the foil. Roll the foil over the mixture, and twist the ends tight, so that a nice log is formed. Place on a baking sheet, seam side down, and bake for about 50 minutes or until firm.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Now you have prepared vegan ham to chop and put into burgers, hash browns, on a salad, in soups and more!
